Be Mobile in Your Own Way

Safe, convenient, and healthy mobility: what exactly does this mean for people in Berlin? Everyone has different needs. What is important to you? Clean air? More space for wheelchairs or baby carriages? Fewer traffic jams?

In this research project, we work together to find out how mobility can become healthier and fairer. The study will run from April 2025 to March 2026 in Berlin and after that in Frankfurt (Oder).

Together for better visibility

Everyone should be able to move around the city easily and healthily, whether walking, using a wheelchair or walking aid, biking, taking public transport, or driving a car.

However, mobility research has a problem: the perspectives of people who are disadvantaged in their mobility have often been neglected. This concerns, for example, people with limitations, disabilities, or chronic illnesses. But also, families with small children, older people, or migrants.

The citizen science study “Be Mobile in Your Own Way aims to make the diversity of needs more visible. Join in because only together can we find solutions that work for everyone.

Three components of the study: basic participation, additional fitness watch option and focus groups with 3 workshops .
